Underwriting Agencies of Australia (UAA) understands the importance of protecting your assets and provides insurance solutions to safeguard your mobile plant and machinery.

UAA and the Community

In late 2016, UAA aligned with the NSW Central Coast Academy of Sport to sponsor a junior Indigenous Talent Identification program. This unique program, developed in partnership between these two organisations, is designed to ‘unearth’ local indigenous talent from our region, providing Indigenous youth the chance to develop their skills and explore sports they may not normally have the opportunity to experience.

The sports offered are AFL, Athletics, Basketball, Golf, Netball, Hockey, Touch Football, Tennis and Rugby Sevens.

In the inaugural year, 60 students participated and 16 sporting scholarships were offered and funded by UAA. In October 2017, that number grew with more than 100 students participating in the program, with 20 scholarships awarded by UAA.

The CEO of Underwriting Agencies Australia, Mr Michael Murphy said of the program:

“As the largest specialist insurer of mobile plant and equipment in Australia and with more than 70% of our clients in regional Australia, we have always been looking to partner with a quality organization to work up a specific program to support and unearth great indigenous talent.

“We believe that the CCAS is the perfect partnership and that our goals are aligned. We are delighted to support this program, the first of its type for academies of sport.  We know this will be highly successful and is a small way to say thank you to the communities that support us.”

UAA also provides various sponsorships and donations to a range of other sporting and charity organisations. UAA are a major sponsor of the Burleigh Bears Rugby League Club, based on the Gold Coast who compete in Queensland’s top rugby league competition, Queensland InTrust Super Cup.

We also support  a young charity called “Got Your Back Sista” www.gotyourbacksista.com/ based in the Hunter region that supports women and children who have been victims of domestic violence.
